Rhino3D. Revit. EnergyPlus. Radiance. THERM.

Starting August 25

The development of parametric climate, daylight and energy analysis tools Ladybug and Honeybee has escalated in the last year. Co-developer Chris Mackey will present never before seen capabilities in a live webinar series hosted by Performance.Network. This is an extended series. Each workshop will be 90+ minutes in length. Register to attend live or receive a recording.

Aug 25
Ladybug Climate Analysis Workshop

A basic introduction to climate analysis and visualization with Ladybug for Grasshopper. Attendees will use Ladybug's interactive sunpath, wind rose, psychrometric chart, and comfort components to produce customized, meaningful climate graphics. Notably, this webinar will be the only one of the Ladybug + Honeybee tutorials that users can follow along without any previous experience of grasshopper. As such, it is recommended that new users of Ladybug who plan to attend the following workshops attend this one. For the more experienced users of Ladybug, this workshop will include a overview of the new Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) comfort model contributed by Djorde Spasic and a brief look at Ladybug for Dynamo.

Ladybug Facade + Shade Design Workshop

This presentation provides a set of methods and guidelines for designing facades and shading systems with Ladybug. Practice-informed methods will be covered that have become refined through project work and will be directly applicable to your own projects. The inferred material teaches new and experienced users structured methods for running radiation studies, direct sun and glare studies, and view studies.

Honeybee Energy + Indoor Comfort Modeling Workshop

This presentation addresses a significant upgrade which switches from writing out EnergyPlus files to using the OpenStudio API. This allows easy generation of models with detailed HVAC systems among a few other benefits. Building on past presentations, this workshop has been further refined by spending less time teaching model set up and more time sharing unique attributes of a parametric interface like Grasshopper and a 3D visualization interface of Rhino to enhance user experience and effectiveness.

Honeybee Dynamo + Daylight Workshop

The workshop will begin with a concise overview of the Honeybee front-end. A deeper exploration of the Honeybee back-end will showcase how it has transformed into a more robust Honeybee Daylight for Dynamo. We will combine a daylight tutorial with the presentation of Ladybug + Honeybee for Dynamo as a good way of teaching new users about daylight modeling while updating experienced users on the capabilities of the Dynamo interface.
