Dear all,

Are there any energy modelling studies done on thermochromic windows? Could you advise me about which software is the best to use for such a study?

Thanks and Regards, Bharath

Dear Bharath,

If you looking for whole building simulations (not just windows) then both ESP-r and EnergyPlus (and their associated interfaces) could model thermochromic glazing. It may not be fully straightforward in some cases to get the inputs that you need but it is possible.

I will email you privately later on of a conference paper that demonstrates the modelling of thermochromic windows with ESP-r.

Best regards,
Georgios
