to all Equest users.
I'm still learning Equest.
had a few questions.
1. I'm creating a main buildind that is connected to a warehouse. I'm
creating main building with a 6" concrete wall, and there is a frame
builting side the outside concrete wall.
How do it create the model? outside shell with concrete, the inside shell
create wood frame.
Or is there away to build one shell and build it up by adding the Batt
Insulation? not sure.
2. The Warehouse is joining build to main building. within the warehouse
there is an alcove and two smaller buildings within the warehouse.
There is a sprinkler riser room and IT room and a storage room that is only
9' high floor to ceiling and floor to floor 14'.
This is all within the warehouse.
From what I understand so far with Equest. I will have to create sprate
shell for each room. warehouse 1 shell, Sprinkler room sparet shell, IT
Room Sparate shell, Alcover sparate shell uncondution, and storage room
sprate shell.
Is this correct to create sprate shell to build a model?

Wish had training DVD or something.
can anyone help?

I will partially/fully address your questions - be advised you will need
to provide more specific info to get more specific answers however:

1. Are you trying to define your constructions within the wizard mode?
If so, you can easily define a 6" concrete wall with wood-furred
insulation there to match your desired construction. It's done in one
of the first wizard screens for each of your shells.
2. I'm struggling to understand why you would want to create shells
within shells. Though there may be a significant volume of space above
the interior "rooms," I would simply define them as separate zones with
a huge plenum "zone." If accuracy is paramount and you suspect there
might be a huge accuracy hit by defining those spaces above the
low-ceiling rooms to be separate spaces, you can later in detailed mode
ensure the "plenums" above these rooms are thermally tied to the
remainder of the open warehouse zone surrounding them.

I'd suggest two shells only based on what you're describing: One for
main building and one for warehouse.

Regarding getting started and wishing for training, let me suggest
bookmarking these two archive searching pages:

b.

...and then reading this email I wrote regarding "beginner's advice" for
some very general pointers:

Best of luck!

Is there any training DVD videos of any kind for Equest?

I even tried www.youtube.com and couldn't find one thing about Equest.

I'm just a little upset that I have every little time to get this project done by the 9th November and no training or any Training videos.

Tools Sofeware programs are only good if you know how to use them and with out any training or training videos, then Equest is useless to me.

I have used this Equest before but it was not a complex build like the round building "Kaiser medical Office" in Salem Oregon.

Every program I ever used there was some contact info or tutorials on line. This is a first for me and being an Energy Simulation program

I'm every surprised there is on contact number or training videos?

I will try the two web sites out later after my project is complete.

The basic Footprint you can't edit after you create it and I'm running out of time.

Thank you for your time and the web sites info.

I need Tech Support with Equest?

Where is the Tech support for Equest?
