We will teach you BIM, simulation techniques, and methods to enable more sustainable design practices using the enhanced features of our latest release of the Virtual Environment. IES is a registered GBCI Education Provider.
Each day is fully interactive allowing you to bring up your questions and concerns to our experts and get the answers you need to be successful on your projects.
What will the course cover?
Day 1: BIM
This 1-day hands-on training workshop guides you through the proven workflow to seamlessly integrate Revit models in the VE.
* Introduction - BIM Integration Concepts & Workflow Processes
* Building Geometry - Modeling Rules and Protocols
* Model Preparation - Set up Spaces, Thermal Templates and Zones
* gbXML Integration - Export from Revit, Import to IES VE
* Running a Simulation - Compare Modeling Results

Day 2: HVAC LOADS SIZING AND ENERGY MODELING
This workshop will walk through the steps required to calculate building & system loads, then use those loads as part of an energy analysis. Workshop highlights will include:

* Introduction to ApacheHVAC
* Building and HVAC System options
* Minimum ventilation requirements (62.1 & 170)
