C++ software developers needed
IES Ltd. develops the building simulation software-a comprehensive suite of tools that facilitate the design of innovative high-performance buildings. These tools support schematic design, solar and daylighting analysis, electric lighting design, and modeling of thermal performance, natural ventilation and mixed-mode operation, HVAC systems and controls, renewables, thermal comfort, air movement, and energy consumption.
IES is recruiting software developers to build upon current functionality of the in new areas and for global markets. IES has offices worldwide and headquarters in the West of Scotland Science Park in Glasgow, where the majority of our software development is done.
The role: Work within a dynamic software development team coding tools and interfaces, primarily in C++, to run on our advanced physical simulation and visual analysis engines. Develop new products and features, maintain and upgrade current software modules, participate in code reviews, and provide input to product documentation.
The candidate:
Essentials:

* Degree in computer science, physics, engineering, or related field of study

* 2 years' experience developing commercial software in C++

* Experience with Visual Studio 2005 or later version

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work as part of a close-knit development team, balancing multiple goals and deadlines
Desirable additional skills and experience:

* Experience developing building simulation software

* Experience developing other types of scientific or technical software

* Experience using building and/or systems modeling or simulation tools

* Experience with HVAC plant models, controls, or mechanical engineering systems

* Experience in coding with Fortran and/or C#

* Experience with MFC or Qt interface development

* Experience with source code control systems, such as Perforce or CVS

* Knowledge of xml and xml style sheet transformations

* Experience with OpenGL/DirectX or other 3D platforms

* Advanced degree in a relevant field of study
