Dear eQuest expert,
Is there anyone who have experienced with modeling the chilled water supply
reset according to ?OA Reset Set-point control? in Cooling? In other
words, chilled water supply temperature will be changeable according to OA
temperature (Lower OA temp, high chilled water supply temp). Can you help
me out on how to set up the model in order for this to be working
successfully.
I really need to model this as accurate as possible. Your help would be
greatly appreciative. Thanks so much for your help in advance. Cheers

Dear Jasmine,
You can model ?OA Reset Set-point control? using chilled water loop?s controls.
There are four control sequences. (Fixed, OA-reset, Scheduled, Load-reset)
See the picture below. If you need help, feel free to contact me.
Thank you.

you can set up it in "control" tab located in loop property dialog.

Dear
Thanks so much for your prompt response. But I am wondering of the details. I did but it seems not working properly. Therefore, if you can details this, that would be awesome

Thanks for your reply
I already tried this but my problem is not that the result is not much of
what I expected.. not much saving from this OA rest control. I am wondering
if I did it in a correct way

Energy saving from OA-reset control depends on the design values and weather data.
If you model OA-reset control, electric consumption for the space cool, heat rejection and pump & fan will be reduced.
I just ran a test to inform you the effects of OA-reset and as a result, an electric consumption saving is 2 %.
This is just one of various cases. In order to get a precise result, you should predict the saving using the hourly report and weather data as well.
Thank you.

Jeon, MiYoung,equest-users???
Firstly, modify the type of setpoint control to "OA Reset"
secondly ,you should assign a schedule for reset schedule.
Details for the Reste schedule:
create a day schedule of Reset type.
example:
setting as following:
secondly create week schedule
finally ,create annual schedue
Dear
Thanks. I am wondering if chiller itself energy saving with using OA reset
control. I was more expecting more like 3% (only for chiller itself energy
saving) with and without using the control, but it is less than 1%.. As
information reveals that chilled water temperature set point reset control
will save about 2% per degree Fahrenheit. I am not sure if my simulation is
correct.
Also, wondering if you ever have done with set-temperature reset control
according to space load (as load varies - time variable) with eQuest.
Thanks very much
Cheers

Jasmine,
He is the quick explanation based on what you?ve asked.
1) Go to your CHW loop and setup the Control to ?OA Reset.?

2) Create a reset schedule for the loop.

Hopefully this helps you with the task.
