Humidification in Baseline building

Dear All,

Should the humidification system be included in the Baseline building if it
is present in the Propose building?

It is common practice to include humidification system in the 5A Climate
zone here in Europe to keep relative

humidity above at least 35% in winter.

Hi Milan,

Yes, if you have it included in the Proposed building you should have it included in the Baseline as well. See Table G3.1, 1b. which requires the humidity control setpoints to be the same for proposed and baseline design. However, you can alter the humidification system to demonstrate energy savings (e.g., atomizing humidifiers, etc.).
