H&A is seeking a qualified and self-motivated Energy Engineer I to join our Building Sciences Studio. H&A's Building Sciences Studio is a core interdisciplinary group of talented and skilled professionals with the experience and desire to provide high performance buildings around the world.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to generate whole-building energy models for energy conservation projects and certification in the US Green Building Council's LEED Green Building Rating System. He/she will have an understanding of the construction industry and will have the ability to review plans, schedules, and controls; interact with multiple disciplines; and assist in preparation of reports and studies, while performing supervised research in areas related to energy and building systems. The ideal candidate will also have demonstrated interpersonal skills through experience interfacing with clients, engineers, architects and others of varying technical abilities, and must be able to work effectively within a team environment. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to self-direct and manage multiple ongoing projects at once.

Candidates will also participate in building inspections and surveys, including energy audits. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to participate in these surveys. Estimated travel is six weeks per year.

Requirements:
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with mechanical emphasis
* Understanding of building systems and the design process
* Energy modeling training/experience with the ability to interpret results and correlate to equipment designs
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* U.S. Citizenship
Preferred:
* EIT
* LEED AP or Green Associate
* Experience with eQuest or other modeling platforms such as Trace 700, EnergyPlus a plus.
* AutoCAD or Revit experience
