Generalized Way to Calculate TEDI

Hi All,

Does anyone know of an easy way to calculate TEDI from eQuest? Or at least
a generalized strategy? I have a number of models with different HVAC
systems and it seems like it's going to be ad-hoc for each one.

Hi Austin,
I had never heard of TEDI (Thermal Energy Demand Intensity) before. Seems to be a Canada thing (for now?). This looks like a relevant reference:

I don?t have a simple answer but I think you should be able to calculate it using a combination of these reports:

* SS-D Building HVAC Load Summary
* SS-A System Loads Summary for [all systems]
* SS-B System Loads Summary for [all systems]
This report includes eQUEST modeling of two building types, with reported TEDI for each. If you can contact Samantha Menard of EQBP, maybe she?ll share how she did the calculations.

Hi All,

I chatted with Samantha, as well as Brian Fountain, and they agreed that
you can just take the SS-D heating total and convert it to kWhe then divide
it by the floor area of the building in m^2 to give you the TEDI.

Nice to have a straightforward approach.
