General Energy Modeling

1 post / 0 new

This is a more general question for those that have been doing modeling for
a while. This is my own company, and I was doing residential energy auditing
but found it to be a very crowded field, and somewhat low paying. I am
trying to convert to commercial/industrial so I am self-learning eQuest and
doing some free case studies to establish a portfolio. I absolutely love
doing these models as I like to tinker and do several what-if analyses. My
questions are as follows:

What do energy modelers typically make for an hourly rate? I
know this will vary by experience and geography so I'm just looking for a
broad range.

What is the market like for energy modelers, specifically using
eQuest?

Any suggestions on where to look for employment, mostly contract
type?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
