FACULTY POSITION IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering at
the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a
tenured/tenure-track position to be filled by August 2016. Applications are
sought at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The
Department of Mechanical Engineering is looking for outstanding individuals
who can help the department strengthen its teaching and research programs.
Applicants are sought in the broad research area of energy, energy
generation, energy storage, building mechanical systems, refrigeration
systems, and/or the built environment.

The successful candidates are expected to build successful,
externally-funded research programs. The candidates must be able to develop
and teach innovative courses, supervise graduate students, obtain funding
for their research programs, and communicate their research results in
quality journals and at conferences. The ability to work collaboratively in
research and teaching with the other departments within the College of
Engineering is required. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mechanical
Engineering or in a closely related field by the time of employment.
Candidates applying for the Associate or Full Professor position must have
distinguished research records with significant extramural funding.

The city of San Antonio is a vibrant city of more than 1.5 million
inhabitants, with significant economic growth, numerous industrial
establishments and excellent school districts. The City and the University
provide excellent cultural and educational opportunities. The University
has more than 30,000 students and is the third largest component in the
University of Texas System. The Mechanical Engineering Department has
programs at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels.
