The Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona
State University (ASU) seek applicants for a
tenure-track/tenured facultyposition in in the field of construction
management and/orengineering .
Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: *remote sensing,
visualization, data acquisition systems, data mining, geographical
information systems (GIS), building information modeling (BIM), smart
buildings with integrated, or net-zero systems, and/or design, build,
operate, maintain and retrofit of sustainable facilities; *this faculty
member will provide leadership as we grow our efforts in the areas of
innovations in the design, delivery, monitoring, and rehabilitation of
facilities and sustainable construction in the built environment.

The Del E Webb School of Construction in the Fulton Schools of Engineering
includes faculty working on a variety of topics including sustainable
construction methods, collaboration using Building Information Modeling
(BIM), alternate project delivery, 4D visualization, 3D laser scanning,
building energy improvement, and geographical information systems.
Extensive collaborations exist across the university, including
Architecture, the Design School, and the Global Institute of
Sustainability. The current opening is intended to broaden this expertise
and expand collaborations.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in Construction
Management, Civil or Construction Engineering, or a closely related field,
and preferably have field experience focused in construction. Required
qualifications also include demonstrated evidence of research capability
and commitment to teaching excellence as appropriate to the candidate?s
rank. The originality and promise of each candidate?s work are higher
priorities than the specific sub-area of research.

Faculty members are expected to develop an internationally recognized and
externally funded research program, teach graduate and undergraduate
courses in construction management and engineering, advise students, and
undertake service activities.

Appointment will be at the assistant, associate or full professor rank
commensurate with the candidate?s experience and accomplishments, beginning
August 2013. Although the appointment may be in any of Fulton
Engineering?s five schools, the successful candidate is most likely to be
placed in the Del E. Webb School of Construction programs, within the
School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment.
