Using VRF as EEM

Hello,

I'm modeling a church that has a ~5000 SF sanctuary with 36' vaulted
ceilings, that has an additional attached two story shell ~24' that holds
offices and two conference rooms on floor one and apartments on floor two,
that attaches to the original sanctuary (now a common room) with 26'
vaulted ceiling and an attached kitchen and a separate two-story shell ~24'
used as classrooms. Both the offices, apartments, and classrooms use
electric baseboard heat, The conference rooms have a 80K BTU gas furnace.
There are two two-stage 80K BTU furnaces which look to be configured to run
as a three stage system. There are no plans, but it is presumed to heat
the ~5,000 sanctuary. All existing ducts, save the sanctuary, are wrapped
with asbestos. There is no cooling.

They want to add solar and are looking to reduce their energy use first.
For all areas except maybe the sanctuary I'm looking to replace them with
ductless mini-splits (VRF) and if it pencils out, the sanctuary, which is
currently ducted in the crawlspace.

I can't figure out how to model the mini-splits in place of the gas
furnaces. Further, since it's not self-evident, will eQUEST model this
correctly?

Hi Mark:
I myself have just started to delve into VRF in DOE-2.3. Since this is a SYSTEM change, I believe you will need to do a separate run for VRF. You cannot do this as a straight Parametric run.
Your zoning maybe slightly different as well.
