Split units with multicompressor

Hi All,
I have ductable packaged split units with multiple compressors
now these units dont have variable control like VRV units where compressor
hp varies with rpm as per the load variation.

But they also contribute to enery savings in compressor in the sence that
they have 3 compressors each 10hp motor and when the load comes down one
compressor is off when load further comes down second compressor is also
off. ie they enery saving is contributed by compressor on/off not VFD in
compressor.

How can i model this to claim savings in equest .

Thanks

Sambhav,

I don?t think equest have multi compressor model option. My suggestion
would be, this energy savings in multi compressor should be accounted in
system rated EER/COP. Please check with unit manufacturer.

Also make sure that, you are assigning system EER after deducting the
supply fan power in order to model supply fan power separately.

Hope it helps!

Thanks

I have a question about the correct way to specify an ERV and the
outdoor air flow in a system.

In my example, the roof top unit serves a single zone. The AHU has
an ERV that recovers heat from 1200 cfm of outdoor air. This flow is
specified in the System, Outside Air and Economizer, Heat Recovery 1.

Should the outdoor air flow also be specified in the single zone
served by this AHU? If I don't specify where the outdoor air goes,
the SV-A report for that zone shows no outdoor air. From that, it
would seem to me that I should specify the outdoor air flow in the zone.

Thanks for any help with this issue!
