I have a problem creating system in eQuest. Whenever I tried to create system in the detail mode, eQuest hangs by itself and closes suddenly. Is anyone familiar with this problem. Please help me solve this problem.
1. What (if any) Plant components are in the model from the Wizard mode?
2. What (if any) Air-side System components are in the model from the Wizard mode?
3. What system are you trying to create in Detailed mode that causes the lockup?
4. Did you delete any Plant or Air-Side systems or system components that were initially created in the Wizard mode prior to attempting to create the new system?
I have ever encountered the problem, and my solution is editing the inp file directly to add the system you want to, and then open eQuest to do the next work.
My other easy suggestions are to open the. Inp rather than the. pd2 and to check the. BDL file for errors. Beyond that, you will have to share your. inp and. pd2 with the group and someone may take a look and find something.
I created a psz system with heat pump. I created most of the systems yesterday. Today when I tried to create another one, software hangs and closes immediately.
Everything works well. It doesn?t show any BDL error or simulation error. But when I tried to create system, it says ?Building Energy simulation tool has stopped working? and eQuest hangs. Then I don?t have any option left except closing the file.
I think it is a bug of eQUEST,not the problem of your model.Sometimes I also ecounted this problem,and I always edited the inp file directly to complete the operation that can not be done in eQUEST interface.

The first questions I would ask are:

Can you run it before you take it out of wizard mode? If so, what do the
simulation messages in the sim file say?

Try this option:- Check your machine compatibility with Windows XP Service
pak 3. If not, enable it and try.

Editing the inp file directly can solve your problem sucessfully.The system named "new system" is created by editing the inp file.

Your screenshot indicates you are trying to create the system from scratch. Have you tried to copy one of the existing systems instead?

I accidentally defined Outside air system for DOAS. That was the problem. I removed it and its working now.
