Hi
I have created a two storey model. I created a separate shell for each floor as the floor area of each is not identical. Now certain areas on the first floor are open to below to the ground floor. While running the simulation the errors saying that certain exterior walls are having negative net area. On checking the wall location, it was found that all the areas which i had put as open to below are having these exterior walls. Please advice me on how to resolve this issue also want to know if my approach to a multi storey project by creating different shell areas was the right move.
Thank YouGlenn Noronha

Glenn:
Please see the attached Sample single story project. Please note that the zones align precisely with the outside wall boundaries. Please also note the adjoining zones also have the same attach points for each zone.?
It appears on your zone makeup you are not adjoining the zones to each other,. There are spaces between, and the result is a difficult quagmire to decipher.
I suggest you start you project again in the DD Wizard, aligning EVERYTHING. THEN move to the Detail Mode.
