eQEST auto sizing, capacity is smaller than the secondary demand

1 post / 0 new

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about auto sizing feature of eQUEST, related to primary-
and secondary loops.

If I let eQUEST size the boilers and chillers everything feels fine, but I
get capacities that are much bigger than the capacities in the SS-D report.
The auto sized capacities for boilers and chillers are in the range of
double the size of the SS-D report.

If I take the capacities of SS-D report for boilers and chillers every thing
works fine as well, but I get the following warnings:

**WARNING*******************************************************************
***

Loop: Prim?rkreis K?ltemaschinen cooling capacity is smaller

than the secondary demand. Primary= 6776000.

Secondary= 11205034.

**WARNING*******************************************************************
***

Loop: Prim?rkeis FW heating capacity is smaller

than the secondary demand. Primary= -6708000.

Secondary=-11698696.

So if I look at the PV-A report I see secondary loop flows that are nearly
double the primary loop flows.
This suits the auto-sized demands of the secondary loops which have
identical LOOP-DESIGN-DT.

Bigger loop flows mean bigger pump energy for the secondary loops.
So how can I reduce the secondary loop flows also.
If I just define smaller pump power for the secondary loops I get following
warning.

**WARNING*******************************************************************
***

Pump: Sekund?rkreispumpen K?hlregister has a total user-specified flow

of 1588. gpm, but the loop flow is 1858. gpm.

So should I accept higher pumping energies in the secondary loops because of
auto-sizing? Any hint is highly appreciated !
