I'm modeling a building with vertical columns that extend off the building 7.5 feet intermittently along the north and south exposures. When I input these as vertical fin external shades to the windows of the rooms affected, there is no change to the load profile on the building. I am using full year weather. Is there something I'm missing that makes these available? Like, a schedule I'm missing?
I think I figured it out. Somebody had entered the shading coefficient of the glass as 0 before giving me the file, so the windows were being modeled as opaque.
