Sub-metering Gas

Does anybody have any ideas on how I could sub-meter gas in my building? I have two separate gas lines, and I can't figure out how to do sub-metering in Trace. Thanks.

and this works for any other utility sub-metering as long as you can convert the rate into $/therm. Coal, oil, and other all use $/therm in TRACE.

The only way to go about this is to use a separate fuel type (like coal or other). The energy usage will be the same since it uses therms either way. Just remember when it says "coal" it really means that it is the second gas meter.

Good thing to know this way to separate the different gas consumption. I was trying to separate the commercial and residential energy usage, now I can have a direction to try. How about electricity, same idea?

Yeah, unfortunately, it is a bit more difficult (because the units are in therms and not kw-hrs), but otherwise, yes, the same concept will work.

Though TRACE will not have the most accurate source energy (the actual source energy will be higher because electricity uses the most source energy per site energy).

This could theoretically be fixed by going to actions--> change energy parameters and changing the resource utilization factor for a particular item (like oil for instance).
