Am I the only one that is getting "burned" by the baseline fan energy for PTACs versus a proposed DOAS + FCU system? Even if we set the baseline fans to run continuous and the proposed to cycle we get creamed on fan energy. Any location with any kind of humidity would not function well with thru the wall PTAC and continuous ventilation. To makeup for this we have been modeling DOAS in the baseline as well, which at least helps offset the fan power. Lately LEED has been calling us out on this so this "workaround or cheat" is no longer viable. I am interested to know how other people are handling this? I personally think its a bust in 90.1.
