Equest freeze & Spreadsheet Refresh error

Hello all,

I am modeling a large  building with multiple shells (11 shells) and 25 floors; more than 7000 components and 62,000 lines.

When I tried to open building shells spreadsheet I got an error:

"Selection list exceeds maximum length of 65,500 characters (98,339required). Notify program support representative".

Also when I try to change skylight and window coordinates in the detailed mode, equest crashes on me.

Does it mean that I need to reduce number of spaces/zones or divide my building into two separate files? Any idea how to solve this problem?

Thank you

Jude.

The 7000 components is probably doing it to you. Remember, when you create multiple shells, you get additional components (even if they are identical). So, the best thing to do here, and it is a bit of a pain, is to reuse your identical components in other shells.

(ie, in each new shell - you get new walls, new materials, layers etc).

I don't think zones/rooms are the problem, but it's always good to keep that as low as possible on a huge building. (it keeps iteration time at a minimum, which becomes exponentially significant as you approach a completed equest energy model).
