Hi , Is there a way to change the weather file, when we are in detailed edit mode in eQUEST. There was a post which stated us to change the weather file by opening the *.pd2 in notepad. But am unable to do it, as the file is not getting loaded after changes. And I need to simulate the performance of the building at a number of sites! Your inputs are appreciated. Siddharth,

There are 2 option to change weather file

* Option 1: In wizard mode building creation wizard project/site in wizard screen 1of 2 change state & city as undefined than click perform simulation than you will getting weather fill missing than you can give the path for new weather file.

* Option 2 : In detail mode go to building shell click left side tree project in file references the weather file tab there will taking you old weather file path change that path for new for example Washington to Delhi(India), old one TMY/WASHINDC.bin change to new IND/Delhi.bin than save perform simulation then you will see refection on your report. The weather file usually will be in the documents -eQuest 3.6.. Data-weather file here you can save your new weather file with folder IND/Delhi.bin.

I think this help you on changing the weather file.

Have the same problem and haved tried as you described - went in Building Shell in Detailed Edit, where should I left click???

I tried Project, Compliance and Site Data Tabs but there are no options to change the weather file. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Ps: the weather file I was using is Zürich, Switzerland which is not on any of the DOE or Energyplus weather sites. Any help will be appreciated.

Kadighije-

It's on the left side, but you need to "right click"!

Right click the Project name (top left) when under the Building Shell and select properties (the weather file is specified at the center of the window that pops up)
