In this mid- to senior-level role, a wide range of responsibilities will require keen insight, initiative and creativity and draw from a diversity of prior work experiences. Examples may include:
? Provide energy modeling and optimization studies with "power tools" such as IES-VE, DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus or Sefaira for highly sustainable, high-profile projects such as Stanford University's new Redwood City campus
? Work with owners and design teams to understand owner requirements, develop Owner's Project Requirements (OPR), and recommend appropriate envelope, HVAC and DHW systems based on OPR, calculated loads and lifecycle costing
? Develop energy monitoring strategies and analyze data to inform energy-savings recommendations, target commissioning efforts, and troubleshoot comfort complaints
Here's what we're looking for:
ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVES.
? 4-10+ years post-academic work experience (2+ years with energy modeling)
? Belief that using building energy simulation tools to inform design decisions is invaluable for clients and FUN for you!
? Fundamental understanding of and interest in mechanical systems?
? Focused on process and results rather than "points" or "labels"
? Passionate about technical excellence, sharing knowledge and challenging boundaries
? Excited by the idea of growing into a leadership role at a highly respected, entrepreneurially-minded firm with virtually unlimited opportunities to carve your future and that of the company
PREFERRED CREDENTIALS
? Engineering or architecture degree
? Licensed Engineer or Architect (or licensure imminent)
? Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar
