Our Building Performance Group, a team of several highly qualified and experienced engineers and scientists is providing energy and performance modeling, as well as CFD and daylight simulation for a wide range of innovative buildings worldwide which incorporate cutting-edge technologies, such as radiant slab heating and cooling, CHP, absorption chillers, phase change materials, etc., as well as passive strategies. Our projects include some of the most ambitious high performance and net-zero energy buildings in the US and abroad.

Job Description

We are currently offering a position as Building Performance Analyst and Energy Modeler. Applicants need to fulfill the following minimum requirements:

? Must have a Master's Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited college or university or similar qualification.

? Must have a sound knowledge and excellent understanding, as well as a minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial building industry (e.g. Architecture, HVAC, etc.), including (but not limited to) building surveys, benchmarking, load calculations, equipment sizing, HVAC design, energy audits / Cx, etc.

? Must have sound knowledge and excellent understanding, as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in energy modeling (incl. ASHRAE 90.1) using EnergyPlus and/or IES Virtual Environment; additional simulation experience (e.g. TRNSYS, eQUEST, Radiance, Star-CCM+/FLUENT, etc.) preferred.

? Must have proven experience with the planning, execution and management of all aspects of energy modeling from the scoping stage through reporting (minimum of four (4) completed projects).

? Experience in preparing LEED documentation for Energy & Atmosphere prerequisites and credits and responding to USGBC/GBCI review comments highly preferred.

? Experience in performing energy audits, including (but not limited to) energy benchmark, site surveys, energy saving estimation, life-cycle-cost analysis, functional performance testing, etc. highly preferred.

? BEMP Certification preferred; LEED AP highly preferred.

? Must have excellent verbal and written English language skills; additional language skills (e.g. German) beneficial and preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities and assignments in this position would include (but are not limited to)

? Load calculations, energy modeling and modeling of HVAC systems to understand the energy and thermal comfort performance of buildings under various conditions and design configurations.

? CFD modeling and simulation for building spaces as well as the air flow around buildings.

? Summarizing results in technical reports and presentation to clients and multi-disciplinary project teams.

? Production of feasibility studies for building services including (but not limited to) cost estimates and life-cycle-cost analyses.

? Consulting services for commercial buildings including (but not limited to) LEED consulting, energy audits, commissioning, etc. for new and existing buildings.

? Execution of site surveys for building and system assessments that result in recommendations and energy conservation measures for renovation, replacement, and optimization of technical systems, including (but not limited to) value engineering for building services.

? Work as part of multidisciplinary teams (including, but not limited to attending meetings with architects, planners, and clients, etc.)

? Work in international projects that require communication with multicultural project teams.
