Hello fellow modellers,
By any chance, does anyone have a documentation on how to transform the raw
ASCII data from the Integrated Surface Hourly Database (ISD) or locally
acquired data to a .csv?
I also suspect that the data that I acquired has no radiation data. Does
any one of you know any other sources for it?
Thanks!
All the best,
*Eugene*
?
The ISD is in a standard DSI-3505 format that is documented online, but it's not for the
timid. It consists of a 105 column mandatory fixed-field section, followed by a optional
free-field format using one or two-letter codes to designate the contents of the following
fields.
You "suspect" that the data has no radiation data ? Solar radiation has never been part
of the standard meteorological parameters recorded by weather stations. The solar
radiation on >99% of all the weather files floating around have been calculated either
from models or remote-sensing data.
