climate zone 4a economiser

Dear all,

ASHRAE 90.1 - 2007, App G
typical office building
Climate zone 4a

A mixing box should operate predominantly on re-circ whilst introducing a
minimal amount of fresh air to the building (such as that required to meet
ASHRAE 62.1).

Does anybody else find the tables G3.1.2.6A & B confusing?

Cheers

Chris

Sorry this was a question! I was just trying to be concise but realised
when I re-read that it was incomplete.

It appears that an economizer is not applicable to a baseline building in
this case. However, G.3.1.2.6B infers that there may still be a high limit
shutoff.

I thought the high limit shutoff was the economizer!

Grateful for your longsuffering patience!

Dear Chris,
4a does not appear to be referenced in Table 6B...
Regardless, the two tables go together and a high limit is not applicable if no economizer is used.
p.s., I don't recall, but I think my red marks reflect some addenda.

I'm with Jim.

G3.1.2.6.B and corresponding section G3.1.2.7 do not kick in if economizers aren't required.
