Note that CAN-QUEST is running the DOE-2.2-47h1 calculation engine -- the
same calculation engine as eQUEST 3.64. The user interface for CAN-QUEST is
was started on version 3.62 of eQUEST so there are some features, such as
custom zone naming, that are not available in CAN-QUEST. However .inp files
created in CAN-QUEST can be imported into eQUEST 3.64 and vice-versa. (I
have not tried with version 3.65). The key benefit to CAN-QUEST is the
generation of the Canadian National Energy Code for Buildings (NECB) 2011
reference building.
Note that the CAN-QUEST metric implementation is in the user interface only
-- both in the wizards and the detailed interface. The .inp files are all
still in imperial units. This does mean that user expressions (which are
written to the .inp) must be in imperial even if you are using the metric
mode. It also means that the user can switch between metric and imperial
modes on the same file.
There is CAN-QUEST training being offered in conjunction with eSIM 2014 in
Ottawa in May.

dates back several months, there are still some unresolved issues. I wasn't aware that
eQUEST 3.62 allows the use of metric units. Can anyone confirm that?
