ashrae 90.1 minnimum

Hello,

I am trying to test my base design against Ashrae 90.1 2004. I heard through
the grape vine that I could automatically set the minimum ashrae standards
by choosing ashrae as a compliance. Opposed to entering all the building
information from ashrae 90.1 2004. Does anyone have any experience with
applying the ASHRAE standards to the model?

Thanks

Hi Bart,

You heard somewhat correctly. The current 90.1 baseline available in eQuest
3.64 is based on 2007 version. Unfortunately right now there are some bugs
in the programming of the compliance tool and this tool doesn't yet run
smoothly.

Your best bet at this day and time is to use the old manual approach of
creating your baseline and manually inputting your own baseline values.

I somewhat disagree, respectfully, of course! There are some bugs being
worked out but for the most part eQ 3.64 works well. It does not do
everything that needs to be done so the user should definitely read the
manual for it which can be found on the DOE2.com website. Also, as we use it
and find problems we can send our files to Kevin Madison, per his email
yesterday, "in a compressed archive file such as .zip or .7z format and
email to eqcomp at madisonengineeringps.com. We will keep any submission fully
confidential, only allow access to those materials by our development group
for the purpose of diagnosing eQUEST problems that require fixing, and not
release to anyone for any purpose." In this way we can help the developers
of the tool we use and love (?!?) make it even better.

Best,

Carol
