I'm working on a new net-zero residence in upstate NY and will be helping the architect consider options for floorplan, orientation, envelope, windows etc.
I'd appreciate thoughts (or a phone call!) from anyone with experience using eQUEST for residential design and especially with the SUNSPACE features.
Also, sources or details for wall assemblies and roof design would be helpful. This will be one story plus basement.
Lastly, any design guides for attached greenhouses would be appreciated.
Thanks!
~Bill

Bill,
National Greenhouse Manufacturer's Association has several resources under "Helpful Hints": https://www.ngma.com/industry_information.htm
You may find these other references for greenhouses helpful too...
Michigan State University: http://msue.anr.msu.edu/resources/greenhouse_energy_conservation_strategies
University of Connecticut: http://ipm.uconn.edu/documents/raw2/Greenhouse%20Energy%20Conservation%20Checklist/Greenhouse%20Energy%20Conservation%20Checklist.php?aid=225
Minnesota: http://www.flor.hrt.msu.edu/assets/EnergyConservationForGreenhouses2.pdf
and of course University of Wisconsin: http://www.uwex.edu/energy/pubs/ReducingNaturalGas_Greenhouses.pdf
There are some interesting LED grow lights available that tune the light spectrum for optimal performance.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Keith Swartz, PE | Senior Energy Engineer
