Active Chilled Beams

I have been trying to model 4-pipe active chilled beams and am having no
success. I am using Induction Units. Each time I try to run a simulation,
it tells me that it can't complete due to an error, but it does not show me
the error (on the output file or the bdl check). I have tried
oa-from-system with a dummy zone, dedicated chw and hw loops for higher chw
temps and lower hw temps, and many other configurations. I have started
over about 10 times by now. I know I am doing something wrong. If anyone
has successfully modeled this system, please help! I am about to attack my
computer!

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

I had a weird problem like that once and it went away after I returned my HVAC system temps (supply, max and min cooling resets, etc.) to typical values. eQuest kept crashing but would not print an error anywhere. I never tracked down the specific problem or range of values that was causing it. Good luck.

I have never worked with chilled beams but have had this problem on
several projects. If the file won't run nothing in Equest will help.
You need to go in the BDL file with notepad. Scan through the text.
You may have some warnings through the file but at the end you will have
a line or 2 of cautions or errors where the program failed.
